After the first pour we now had a room that we could work in to make the new receive room. The most important thing about the receive room is to decouple it from the rest of the building and to isolate it. This is accomplshed with special isolation dampers. We have to thank Matt Golden of Kinetics Noise Control, Inc and Dave Forrest of Seattle Noise and Vibration for the help and work they provided in getting us the correct products to make this happen. The floating floor is the hardest thing to get right and required us to "float" a 6-7 inch concrete slab on top of the Kinetics Isolation pads. This was accomplshed by making a form on top of the green pads and adding 3/4 inch rebar to a floor that was 1600 sq ft in size.
